First Look: Tomica Limited Vintage BMW 325i 4-door in both black and white...

Alright, now that we are done with the Hot Wheels Datsun Wagon, we can put that to bed until its arrival in September.

And let's get to a new model that you can get now.  Tomica Limited Vintage has released its batch for July, and it includes Daihatsu Midget single-seater (more on that one later this week), and another BMW, the E30 325i 4-door.

A lot of you have gotten on the TLV bandwagon of late, and we hope you are enjoying what you have bought from Japan Booster or elsewhere.  We at Lamley are fully on board.  We have been loading up our TLV arsenal for future posts.  In fact, between frequent visits to the Japan Booster eBay store and spending way too much time perusing Jeff Koch's TLV stock at the Matchbox Gathering, we have expanded the TLV collection quite a bit.  Here are the latest acquisitions from the last 2-3 weeks:

We have a lot of work to do.  Those Super Silhouette Skylines and Bluebird, as well as the three Machine RS models from Seibu Keisatsu should interest quite a few of you.  But in time.

For now we have the BMW's, one in black and one in white, both 325i models, made to accompany the 318i 2-door models released earlier this summer.

The E30 BMW, as we have said before, is truly an iconic BMW, for many reasons.  But one is its familiarity.  It is what many folks will think of when BMW is mentioned.  And for me, the 4-door is even more familiar.

Of course Tomica Limited Vintage tackles is perfectly.  We were reading an article about TLV that mentioned what goes into making the highly accurate models.  The TLV team likes to find a real version of the car they are interested in doing, and instead of just getting specs, they like to find the best example of the car they can and measure precisely.  And as usual that attention to detail shows through with the BMW.  We will let the photos do the talking.

And remember, both of these are available right now at Japan Booster, and you can get them shipped for free by adding on one more model, and there are plenty to choose from.  Japan Booster are always adding more models.  You won't be disappointed.

One other thing, for you TLV fans.  Japan Booster has just created a website that serves two purposes.  One, to serve as a TLV Catalog, and two, to sell PVC protectos for TLV boxes.  As Japan Booster photographs models for their sales, they will also post the photos on the website.  Now you have chance to see what most model look like thanks to the clear photos taken by the store.  Check it out:

Just Released: Tomica Limited Vintage BMW 325i 4-door in both black & white are now available at Japan Booster...

I have settled in to my hotel room here in Albuquerque for the Matchbox Gathering, ready to get my orange on.  The drive was long (9+ hours), and I have spent the last hour photographing auction prepros from Mattel and the Gathering Exclusives. (Wait until you see them.  Unveiling is Saturday night.)  It is now time to turn in and get some rest before hitting all the in-room trading later.

But before I do, it is necessary to put Matchbox aside for a couple of minutes to pass on the news I just got from Japan Booster.  The brand-new BMW 325i 4-door from Tomica Limited Vintage is now out, and it is available at the Japan Booster ebay store.

The 325i accompanies the 318i 2-door that was released by TLV last month.  I guess I will need to withhold judgement once I get them, but I think I might like the 4-door even more than the 2-door, especially in black.  But let's wait and see.  Ours are on their way.

In the meantime, head over to Japan Booster to grab on or both.  They are offering them separately or as a 2-car lot, and you can add one of the brand-new Daihatsu Midgets to get the total over $50 and qualify for free shipping.  Go grab them while you can:

Bring on the Skylines: Opening another parcel of Tomica Limited Vintage from Japan Booster...

The obsession continues...

About the time the last package from Japan Booster arrived, carrying the TLV IDx Nismo, we had already ordered another.  While at first glance you might think that Tomica Limited Vintage occupies a very small corner of the diecast world, that is not the case.  We have obviously seen them branch out to several German carmakers, but even within their nostalgic Japanese world, there is a ton of variety.

Earlier this week we featured some of their city buses, other times pure stock street cars that you may or may not be familiar with.  Then there are the police cars, and special promo cars, race cars, and even the amazing ongoing set dedicated to the Japanese television program Seibu Keisatsu.

It seems one say we will be into the racers, another the street cars, and so on.  So after a package containing the amazing IDx, the BMW 3 Series, and some Seibu Keisatsu police cars, we decided to go Skyline.  We got onto the Japan Booster ebay store (one of our readers just mentioned that half the fun of visiting the Japan Booster store is just looking at the models, and we totally agree), and gobbled up a few goodies.

The package arrived yesterday, and we thought we would let you participate in the fun.  All these will be getting the full Lamley treatment in the days ahead.  For now, we can enjoy opening them up...

Before we do, we will once again throw in our endorsement for Japan Booster as the best Tomica Limited Vintage store there is, especially for collectors overseas.  The best selection of both old and new TLV, the best prices, and their FREE SHIPPING policy for items over $50 can't be beat.  As you are looking at what we pull from this box, keep in mind the shipping was totally free.  They are the best way to start a TLV collection.

Just follow the link to the Japan Booster store or hit their logo on the upper right-hand corner of the blog...

Enjoy:
